Shri Jagdishdasji Saheb was a foremost scholar of Sanskrit literature and religions and philosophies of India. He was born in a very devout family in Maharashtra State in 1955. As a child he used to sit with his father for daily prayers and accompanied him on all his religious functions. He has memorized the Bhagvat Gita in childhood by listening to it being read by his father. He was an avid reader and quickly became knowledgeable of most of the important literature and scriptures of India.
He had an intense desire to obtain God realization.
He left home at 17 years of age. He travelled to many of the holy places of pilgrimage in India. He met his guru Shri Manohardasji Saheb at Rishikesh. On the advice of his Guru he went to Varanasi for higher studies. He completed his Bachelor Degree in Sanskrit from Banaras Hindu University, Sahityacharya (Master’s Degree in Sanskrit Literature), Vedantacharya (Master’s Degree in Vedanta Philosophy), and Sankhya Yogacharya (Master’s Degree in Sankhya and Yoga Philosophy), LLB(Law Degree (Gorakhpur University).
He also studied Jyotish (Astrology) and the lives and teachings of many saints. Shri Jagdishdasji Saheb became well versed in the Vedas, Upanishads, Parana and the various philosophies of India. He developed a great liking for the teachings of Kabir Saheb and became exponent of Kabir’s Philosophy and his exalted mystical teachings.
He decided to become a monk and to travel to various countries to spread the great teachings of Indian philosophy and especially of Kabir Saheb for the benefit of all people. He was fluent in different languages like Sanskrit, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi and English.
He travelled to many countries to spread the messages of Kabir – a message which is based on a life of peace, love, harmony, brotherhood and humanity.
