Sadguru Kabir came to earth to show the right path to mankind. He taught unity, equality and universal brotherhood. Kabir Panth is a group of people who follow and propagate the teachings of Kabir Saheb. There are over a thousand of Kabir Ashrams in India and overseas.

HISTORY:

In 17th century few Kabir Panthi Saints came to Jam Ranmalji, then King of Jamnagar and ask for the land for their night stay at Jamnagar. King Jam Ranmalji gave them the land near Darbargadh, Bardhan Chowk at Mota Fali. That land was supposed to be identified as “Bhootni Medi” (cursed land) and no one dares to stay there. King’s intension was to test the genuineness of saints.

All saints chanting bhajanas throughout the night at that place. Early in the morning the King Jam Ranmalji sent his servant to check the condition of saints at that place; he thought that the sants might have been run away in the night due to the fear. He got surprised when he was informed that the saints are now in “Dhyan Yoga” at that place and enjoyed the Bhajanas throughout the night. He himself visited that Medi  and impressed with their devotion.

The King Jam Ranmalji offered that land to those saints for their permanent stay at Jamnagar. Since than that place has became famous as Kabir Ashram Jamnagar, and the saints started propagating the Messages of Sant Kabir Saheb.

In 1824 AD Sant Shri Khemdasji Saheb Guru Shri Hajur Amolnaam Saheb became the first Mahant of Shri Kabir Ashram Jamnagar. He spread the teaching and messages of Saint Kabir at Halar now Jamnagar region.

Mahant Shri Nirbhaydasji Saheb guru Mahant Shri Khemdasji Saheb become Mahant by Shri Hajur Suratsanehi Naam Saheb on 1836 AD

In 1856 AD  Mahant Shri Jivandasji Saheb guru Shri Nirbhaydasji Saheb became Mahant by Shri Hajur Haknaam Saheb.

In 1906 Ad Mahant Shri Mohandasji Saheb Guru Shri Jivandasji Saheb became Mahant by Shri Haju Paknaam Saheb.

In 1931 AD Mahant Shri Amardasji Saheb Guru Shri Mohandasji Saheb became Mahant by Shri Hajur Pragatnaam Saheb.

In 1940 AD Mahant Shri Prushottamdasji Saheb Guru Shri Amardasji Saheb became Mahant by Shri Hajur Ugranaam Saheb.

He was famous for his “Maha Siddhi” and had a very large numbers of disciples. The place given by the King Jam Ranmalji in 17 century,  near Darbargadh, Bardhan Chowk at Mota Fali, was now inadequate. Sant Shri Ramdasji disciple of Mahant Shri Purshottamdasji Saheb took efforts and inspired the King Jam Vibhaji at that time to donate the land at Kisan Chowk area which is now the current location of Kabir Ashram Jamnagar. The King Jam Vibhaji himself flagged the Satnam Flag at the newly re-located Kabir Ashram.

In 1975 AD Mahant Shri Shantidasji Saheb Guru Shri Purshottamdasji Saheb became Mahant by Shri Hajur Dayanaam Saheb.

In 1985 AD Mahant Shri Ramswarupdasji  Saheb Guru Shri Shantidasji Saheb became Mahant by Shri Hajur Dayanaam Saheb.

In 15 February 1990 Mahant Shri Jagdishdasji Saheb Guru Shri Ramswarupdasji Saheb became Mahant by Shri Hajur Uditnaam Saheb.

29th  March 2009 Mahant Shri Rameshwardasji Saheb Guru Shri Jagdishdasji Saheb became tenth Mahant of Shri Kabir Ashram Jamnagar, by Mahant Shri Charandasji Saheb Adhyaksha Mahagujarat Kabirpanth Samaj.
